October 14, 2008 – Formaspace is proud to announce the use of Formaspace workbenches on PROTOTYPE THIS, an all-new Discovery Channel series. PROTOTYPE THIS brings viewers straight to the drawing board and through the design process to experience firsthand as inventions come to life. The series features a team of expert engineers who work each week to come up with one-of-a-kind prototypes of tomorrow for people to experience today. The Discovery Channel series premieres Wednesday, October 15th at 10 pm e/p.
Formaspace Collaborates with Mike North
The show’s premise highlights a Formaspace passion – innovators using Formaspace products to create the products of tomorrow. Because Formaspace’s products are so flexible, they are ideally suited to custom applications that change from week to week. Formaspace benches provide the groundwork for discovery and creation.
Co-host Mike North worked with Formaspace to design the benches used on the television series. Half of the benches ordered feature the Formaspace Benchmarx ™ design, which provides adjustable overhead storage for infinite flexibility. The work surfaces are a mixture of high-density polyurethane, maple block, and plastic laminate, allowing for a variety of applications. All benches feature total lock casters for mobility and 16 gauge steel subframes for durability.
