5 Ways Formaspace Plans to Build on Record 2013 Sales Success

Thanks to you, our customers, 2013 has been a record year for Formaspace. Coming off our best year ever, we are busy laying out strategic plans to expand our market coverage to serve you even better in 2014.




We Want to Share 5 New Things We Are Doing to Make 2014 an Even Better Year for You, Our Customers and Partners

  1. We are Expanding the Formaspace Presence on the West Coast

    It’s a natural for Formaspace to expand its sales and marketing presence up and down the West Coast. For example, the state of California is already our second-largest market thanks to successful projects like those at the Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital (part of Stanford University Medical Center). With ever increasing synergies between businesses located in our hometown city of Austin with those located in Silicon Valley, Los Angeles, Seattle and Portland, it’s important for us to expand our presence in order to provide increased personalized service for customers on the West Coast.

  2. Welcome Chris Andrews, New Formaspace Vice President of Sales

    We’re very fortunate to have made a very strategic hire of Chris Andrews, who has come on board from Hamilton Scientific to serve as Formaspace Vice President of Sales. With over thirty years in the laboratory furniture market (ranging from product manufacturing, sales and market development to laboratory planning and consulting), Chris is an ideal leader for taking our company to the next level. Under Chris’ leadership, we plan to continue strengthening our strategic relationships, by bringing our attentive customer service culture and technical furniture expertise even closer to our customers and partners. We’ll meet Chris Andrews in an in-depth interview next week to learn more details about his plans for 2014 but we’re providing a sneak preview below:

  3. Chris Andrews is Establishing a Network of Regional Formaspace Sales Representatives in Strategic Areas

    Already Chris Andrews is making some important moves at Formaspace. For example, he is leading our effort to develop a network of Formaspace sales representatives located in strategic markets. Of course we aren’t changing our very successful direct sales model —  you can always purchase technical furniture direct from our Austin, Texas factory via our website or by calling our one our technical furniture experts at 512 279-2576. But this is very exciting news, particularly for our enterprise level customers. It will allow Formaspace to provide a broader range of on-site consulting services and expertise to help with large scale enterprise type projects, such as construction of new facilities at educational institutions, hospitals, laboratories, major condominium developments, military facilities and more.

  4. James Brown, New Business Development Executive Based in S.F.

    Our first expansion announcement is for the San Francisco Bay Area. As we alluded to earlier, there are many important synergies between Silicon Valley and our hometown of Austin, Texas. Many of our customers have facilities in both locations, so it’s a natural for us to want to support Formaspace customers in Northern California.We’re happy to announce that James Brown, who is based in San Francisco, has accepted the role of Business Development Executive at Formaspace. James not only has an extensive background in marketing at multinational companies in Asia and the U.S., he has also been the principal of a well-respected architectural design/build company that has built numerous residential and commercial properties in the Bay Area. James has hit the ground running; already he’s been working hard to establish important relationships with contract furniture distributors in the Bay Area. We’ll get an update from James in the coming weeks about some of the surprising new applications he’s uncovered for using Formaspace furniture at some very well-known Internet start-ups in San Francisco.

  5. Sales Office Opening in SoCal/Los Angeles Region, Applications Being Accepted Now

    Our second expansion announcement is for the SoCal/Los Angeles region. Formaspace has been very successful in selling custom technical furniture in Southern California. It’s clear we want to provide our customers and partners with even more hands-on support, so Chris Andrews is targeting this part of the country for opening up another Formaspace regional office. If you have a strong sales background in custom contract/technical furniture manufacturing, including project oversight (from product specification through to installation) you should be aware Formaspace is actively taking resumes from sales professionals in the SoCal/Los Angeles region. Successful candidates should be able to demonstrate an innovative approach to helping support customers and developing relationships with strategic partners as well as possessing in-depth knowledge and experience with technical furniture environments, such as laboratories, hospitals, educational institutions, manufacturing, military and aerospace facilities.
