Design Support Specialist / Formaspace Office – Full-Time

Formaspace seeks experienced professionals which have demonstrated an ability to deliver results in a multi-tasking sales support environment. Our team of Inside Sales Assistants, known as Design Support Specialists, is located in the Tech Ridge area of Austin, Texas. As an Design Support Specialist at Formaspace, you will be a point of contact responsible for supporting our commercial office furniture dealers with transactional sales and sales operations support.

Daily Job Tasks:

        • Live Chat – You will interact with clients who reach out to us online via live chat from our office furniture site, managing to an average initial response time of ten seconds or less. You will answer sales and service questions, qualify potential projects, and respond to appropriately qualified leads. This portion of the role demands a courteous demeanor, high degree of responsiveness, excellent grammar, solid typing skills, and a basic understanding of office furniture dealer expectations.
        • Sales Support – You will support National Sales Manager for Dealer Sales by taking and making initial calls, building and updating quotes, performing various types of research in support of complex projects and delivery, performing order entry, sending order acknowledgements, tracking freight shipments to insure products arrive on time and undamaged, and gathering information on any service issues that may occur. This role demands a high degree of organization, attention to detail, and the ability to task switch seamlessly between competing tasks.

Who we seek:

        • Preferred experience in a sales support function in a custom furniture, office furniture, furniture manufacturer, and/or customer facing environment.
        • Prefer at least 2 years of sales operations support experience in which you were consistently ranked in the top 25% of your peer group.
        • High School or equivalent is required. Associates or Bachelor’s degrees in business or design fields are preferred.
        • Experience working with CRM systems such as Salesforce.com, Sugar, or equivalent required.
        • Light project management experience preferred.
        • Must be detailed oriented, very organized, creative and enjoy working as a team.
        • Typing speed between 40 to 60 words per minute (wpm).
        • Demonstrates a high level of integrity, character, and commitment to succeed in a team environment.

We are seeking experienced inside sales professionals which have demonstrated an ability to deliver results in a multi-tasking sales environment and develop new business. Our team of Inside Sales Professionals, known as Design Consultants, is located in the Tech Ridge area of Austin, TX. As an Inside Sales Professional at Formaspace, you will be the single point of contact responsible for the entire sales process from opportunity identification to closing the sale.

Daily Job Tasks:

          • Close internet based leads by qualifying and designing standard and custom solutions that meet client’s requirements.
          • Out bound calling to drive new revenue through product penetration and site development in a strategic account list.
          • Daily interaction with the Formaspace internal teams, client consultations, reviewing and editing CAD drawings for client room layouts.
          • Create and modify quotes with very detailed product configurations and pricing that meets client requirements.
          • Daily network building, client acquisition, client expansion

Who we seek:

          • Preferred experience in a broad spectrum of industry environments including: Office Furniture, scientific, technical, or engineering disciplines .
          • Prefer at least 2 years of business to business inside sales experience in which you were consistently ranked in the top 25% of your peer group. Experience selling to or knowledge of industrial, laboratory and/or manufacturing environments.
          • Bachelor’s degree is preferred
          • Experience working with CRM systems such as Salesforce.com, Sugar, or equivalent.
          • Yearly W2’s greater than $45,000, project management experience preferred.
          • Must be detailed oriented, very organized, creative and enjoy designing custom solutions with clients.
          • Proven track record in business development and account management.

Industrial Design Team Member – Full-Time

 Here we grow again! Formaspace seeks an experienced professional who have demonstrated an ability to deliver results in a custom manufacturing environment. Our Industrial Design & Engineering Team is seeking an individual to join our team who will be located in the Tech Ridge area of Austin, Texas. As an Industrial Designer at Formaspace, you will be a key member of the ID&E Team responsible for supporting the day to day creation and modification of standard, modified, and custom quotation and work order CAD data. A background in Inventor, Renderings, Costing, Sourcing, Design for Manufacturing and custom furniture design is advantageous.

Daily Job Tasks:   

  • Working with our Sales and Design Team members to generate CAD data (3d & 2d), Renderings, Material Sourcing solutions, and Costing Summaries to support quotations for Modified and Custom products.
  • Working directly with our off-site ID&E team members to complete CAD data creation activities in the most cost effective and expedient methods possible.
  • Supporting for our Marketing Team with product design, & costing for new product introductions, and standard product line enhancements.
  • Material/Hardware sourcing when project needs require a non-standard solution.
  • Primary responsibility is converting client pain into a product solution that aligns with Formaspace (or supply partners) capabilities which is cost effective and profitable for the organization.

Who we seek:

  • Preferred experience working in and supporting a custom scientific, technical, engineering, or manufacturing environment.
  • Prefer at least 2 years of CAD/CAM experience, preferably Inventor or Solid Works.
  • High School or equivalent is required. Associates or Bachelor’s degrees in technical fields are preferred.
  • Experience working with CRM systems such as Salesforce.com, Sugar, or equivalent is beneficial.
  • Experience in quotation of Fixed Casework projects is beneficial.
  • Light project management experience preferred.
  • Must be detailed oriented, very organized, creative and enjoy working as a team.
