Formaspace receives Austin Fast 50 Recognition
October 17, 2008 - Formaspace Technical Furniture, a leading designer and manufacturer of custom workbenches, has been named one of Austin’s 50 fastest-growing companies by the Austin Business Journal. The number 24 ranking in the less than ten million in revenue category was based upon 72% growth over the last three years.
The Fast 50 highlights the growth of local companies across a wide range of industries that yet seem to share a common secret to success. “They understand that successful businesses are about people- good people working within a good corporate culture to deliver products and services,” said Lyn Chasteen, Publisher of Austin Business Journal. “And they understand that attracting and retaining customers comes from valuing and properly treating the people those products and services are for.”
Formaspace was founded in 1981 as a small cabinet shop, but transitioned to making workbenches when approached by Dell in 1993. The company has since found its calling in providing built-to-spec workbenches at factory direct prices. As such, Formaspace is frequently turned to for custom applications that require durability and flexibility, whether used in industrial, technical, or laboratory environments.

During this period of growth, Formaspace focused not only on its products and customers, but the world as a whole. It became the first full member of the United States Green Building Council in its industry, initiating recycling programs and investing in machinery and equipment to reduce carbon emissions.
